inovailmenau – The Career Forum at the TU Ilmenau
As the largest project of SWING e.V., inovailmenau has established itself as one of the most important career forums in Central Germany within the last 26 years. Organized entirely by students, the career fair offers TU students the opportunity to define and pursue their career path through the fair’s activities and the presence of major companies.
During the two days of the fair, visitors can conduct job interviews directly on site, take part in company presentations, and go through stations for an application portfolio check and an application photo shoot, thus making direct contact with their future employers. Furthermore, in a workshop week before the fair – the Warm.up.Week – there is the opportunity to acquire some important qualities independent of the occupational field.
SWING e.V. is a volunteer-run association founded in 1994, which initially came to light as an association of students of industrial engineering and business informatics, but has since established itself in the implementation of non-profit projects to promote students of all disciplines at the TU Ilmenau. Thus, the association is now composed of students from a wide range of disciplines, who have set themselves the goal of optimally preparing students of the TU for their career entry.
We achieve this goal on the one hand by offering the students and alumni of the TU a platform that allows them to establish contacts with representatives of various industries and thus gain access to various networks and a sustainable exchange of experience. Furthermore, SWING e.V. offers numerous workshops and company visits, which not only equip participants with hard and soft skills – such as improving rhetoric or learning and deepening programming languages – but also provide an insight into various areas of industry and entrepreneurship.
